Hatfield House, built in 1611, is steeped in over 400 years of British history and is a noted example of Jacobean architecture, house historically significant works of art and design.
Situated within the beautiful landscape of Hatfield Park, where Elizabeth I first heard of her ascension to the throne, the estate also features 17th century-designed grounds, beautifully conserved formal gardens and an extensive art collection of international renown, all of which are accessible to the public during certain times throughout the year.
For the McQueen Spring Summer 2025 Pre-collection, Hatfield House became the backdrop; the collection reflecting and juxtaposition the artistry and opulence of the surroundings.
Heritage check wools and tactile suede complement the ornate architecture, contrasted with sharpened tailoring and leather. Amid the grandeur of state rooms; the burnished gold frames of antique portraits are reflected in sculpted metallic Chelsea boots. A deep painterly palette is suffused with light - crystal chain-mail embroideries and delicate sunray pleats set against textured tapestries. Classicism and youthful modernity entwined.
