Workshops & Programmes
Opening the dedicated second floor of the Bond Street store to an audience of students invited from around the United Kingdom, Alexander McQueen established the beginning of an extensive education programme devoted to sharing the history and skills of the house. Connecting with universities, colleges, schools and community education projects around the country, a scheme of study days, workshops, talks and live design briefs offers students the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of design and craft with the help of members of the McQueen studio. All the materials and techniques which make up the language of the McQueen house, from draping and embroidery to print and tailoring, can be seen and explained, revealing the many potential roles which are rarely glimpsed behind the scenes.
